Project:
Website redesign
Ørsted is a renewable energy company with a clear vision to create a world that runs entirely on green energy.
Year:
2023-2024
Since launching the brand in 2017, Ørsted as a company has gone through significant changes. The time had come to update, streamline, and strengthen their digital presence towards a more user-centric website with improved readability and accessibility.
A complete redesign to build a scalable, cohesive web portfolio that communicates the company’s mission to relevant audiences in a simple, engaging, and trustworthy manner was initiated.
Founded in strategic insights and based on feedback and learnings gathered from user tests conducted on several prototype variations, the team created a unified design system, providing a better user experience and improving performance on several internal and external parameters.
The new design and layout structure allow for the content to breathe by providing a guiding experience with a clear overview and visual hierarchy.
A simplified navigation structure utilizing progressive disclosure makes it easy for users to quickly scan the menu and find what they are looking for. Short descriptive texts attached to the menu items, hint at what the users can expect to find within each section.
Though a refined UI with updated layout principles, and a comprehensive list of interchangeable components and modules, the new design provides a lot more flexibility and options for the internal team and content providers to work with.
The redesign of the Ørsted website has entered its development phase and is currently being implemented. The new site is set to launch in late 2024.
